We are the The Sewing House, LLC team and would like to introduce ourselves:
Janice Van Gorp
Janice comes to us with over 30 years of quilting experience. She owns her own long arm quilting machine. She owned and operated Patchworks Quilt Shop in Osceola from 1980 to 1989. She has taught quilting classes for over 20 years. She is a proud owner of a Janome Horizon 7700 sewing machine, a Janome MO200 sewing machine, a Janome 3160 sewing machine and a Janome Jem Platinum 760 sewing machine. She is a member and past president of The Ottumwa Quilters Guild.
After a long career as a peri-surgical nurse, Melissa has come to The Sewing House. She has a love for fabric and enjoys assisting customers color coordinate fabric. Melissa has constructed garments for her family from blue jeans to wedding gowns. She is the proud owner of a 32 year old New Home (Janome) sewing machine.
Jewel joined our team as a beginning quilter. The quilt hanging behind her is a project she helped on in her first quilting class. She is the proud owner of a Janome 3160 and a 7700QCP, both purchased at The Sewing House. Mary Hartley introduced Jewel to quilting and she enjoys working with other quilters.
Neisha is the granddaughter of Janice and Denny. She just graduated from highschool and will be attending Indian Hills this fall. She is just learning to sew and has a great eye for fabric. She is a real asset to The Sewing House.
